Cultured pearls are grown in pearl farms. The mollusks are raised until they are old enough to accept the mother-of-pearl bead nucleus. Through a delicate surgical procedure, the technician implants the bead and then the mollusks are returned to the water and cared for while the pearl forms.

Pearls are the beautiful gems that have last long life with some precuations. There is no extra burdon only requires attention and care in few points :

Detergents : Avoid direct thouch of detergents and soaps that will fade up the shining of pearl

Perfumes and Hair Spray : Avoid direct contact of perfumes or hair spray and never wear pearls with direct touch of skin. These things makes the shine dull over time.

Chlorine & Amonia: Chlorine makes adverse effect on pealrs so never go to swimming pools while wearing pearls jewelery.

Sports : It is recommanded to avoid wearing pearls jewelery during sprots activity because sweat can damage the shining of your pearls.

Sea Water : the sea water contains salt that can adversely affect your pealrs

Rice : some people think that preserving their pearls in rice allows them to improve some aspects of these gems. ATTENTION: the use of this technique can destroy the jewel. The rice has, in fact, a strong absorbing power capable of “draining” the pearls and unbalancing their humidity, therefore, it can also reduce the shine.

Never keep your pearls in rice as some people thinks that its If you wish, you can also store the pearls in leather bags, but be careful to check that they are natural leather. Leathers treated with dyes contain harmful substances and affect the colour and shine of your gem.
